The project: «Limen. Cultural Ports from Aegean to the Black Sea Common borders. Common Solutions.» was implemented by EKBMM with funding from the European Program:” Joint Operational Program Black Sea 2007-2013 “with the cooperation of representatives (universities, museums, research centers, local governments) from Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine and Georgia. Our goal and joint effort was the promotion and promotion of the Byzantine-medieval culture that survives in the ports of the North Aegean and the Black Sea as well as the establishment of an institution: “Cultural port of the Black Sea”.
Within the framework of the project, a large number of activities took place, such as publications, exhibitions, TV commercials, cultural cruise with a conference at sea, placement of plaques, publication of maps with points of cultural interest for tourists, educational activities.
The main concern of the project is the pilot implementation in Istanbul of a newly established institution: “Cultural port of the Black Sea”, through actions carried out in the excavation of the port of Theodosius and the Kucukyali Archaeological Park.
