Hybrid International Conference “Mo.Na.: Monuments in Nature: A creative Co-existence.”

The European Centre for Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Monuments (EKBMM) in the framework of Mo.Na Project organizes the international Conference “Mo.Na: Monuments in Nature: A Creative Co-existence”. The conference will take place on July 7th – 9th, 2021 in Athens, at the Amphitheatre, Directorate for Documentation and Protection of Cultural Goods (Agion Asomaton 33 street, Thiseio, Athens). The event will be hybrid, i.e. the speakers will participate in person, while the public will attend through an e-platform.

The European Centre for Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Monuments (EKBMM) implements the project Mo.Na: Monuments in Nature: A Creative Co-existence (https://www.monumentnature.com/), funded by the INTERREG V – Balkan -Mediterranean 2014-2020. The Project aims to record, analyse, assess and contribute towards the protection and promotion of natural resources and cultural heritage across the Balkan-Mediterranean territory. Its main goal is to enhance integrated planning and common management strategies in areas of high environmental interest and preservation value (Natura 2000, Ramsar areas etc.), where sites of high cultural importance also exist (UNESCO protected areas, etc.).

In this Conference experts of the Environmental and Cultural Sector are invited to present papers related to this topic and give us their aspect on management of sites protected either by NATURA 2000 or UNESCO or both. Attendance is free of charge.
